Student Housing
Residence Halls
Residence Halls support nearly 5,000 students who enjoy the friendships, living/learning focus, and diversity of campus life. Residents can take advantage of activities in the hall, leadership opportunities, high-speed internet, staff available 24 hours, close proximity to the Dining Halls, and many other campus conveniences designed to support busy college students.

THE VALLEYS

  • All rooms are suites where two student rooms share a connecting bathroom
  • Close to the Haworth College of Business, Intramural Fields, and Goldsworth Valley Pond

MAIN CAMPUS
  • Halls offer larger rooms with smaller communities
  • Close to academic buildings, the library, Bernhard Center, and Student Recreation Center
Big Three and Big Four
  • Community-style living where students on each floor share a bathroom
  • Some 3- and 4-person rooms in the Big Four
Little Three
  • Private bathroom or suite-style setup
  • Restricted to upper-class students
Eligibility: All residents must be WMU students enrolled in at least one credit hour.

WMU Apartments
WMU Apartments are conveniently located close to the WMU campus. Apartment rent includes all utilities, cable television services, and an apartment parking sticker. Furnished or unfurnished apartments are available. Convenient WMU Apartment locations include:


Eligibility: Individuals are eligible to live in WMU Apartments if they are enrolled in WMU at least half-time, or are a WMU employee or alumnus.


Spindler Hall
Spindler Hall is one WMU's original residence halls located on the historic east campus. All 80 Spindler Hall rooms are unfurnished, and residents have access to community bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry facilities.

Eligibility: Spindler Hall is an independent housing facility for doctoral, graduate, senior, and non-traditional students at least 23 years of age.


Community Living
Community Living is a unit of the Residence Life department. Community Living provides students with information and education about off campus living in Kalamazoo. These services include:
  • A web site that serves as a comprehensive source of information on renting and living off campus
  • A Housing Locator Service (rental and roommate)
  • Conflict Resolution Service
